Pages: 1 8 replies

...and I'm bringing a whole bunch o' neat stuff to sell! Tiki's, Pin-Ups, Records, Casino, Antiques, and more! I'm liquidating one of my spaces at the Charleston Antique Mall, so I'll have lots of cool junk for low low prices!

Please P.M. me & let me know if you want me to bring anything I carry that you want to buy and I'll make sure it comes with me. I'll add a few fotos tomorrow so you can pick stuff out.

I may even bust out a log and carve another tiki like last year.

It'll be at Jack Murphy/Verizon Stadium Parking lot from early morning 'till dusk.

Stop By for a visit!

Don't you mean the San Diego Sports Arena?

It's a special swap meet at the Q...

"Big 3 Auto Parts Exchange
Attracting participants from all over the country, the BIG 3 Auto Swap is held annually and has grown to be the largest old car event in the San Diego area. The 42nd annual antique and collector car parts exchange and swap meet will be held at Qualcomm Stadium on the weekend of February 29, March 1-2, 2008.

There is no charge to the general public to attend this event, however, there is a stadium parking fee.

The hours are from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday and 6 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday."

Is that what the call the place now? I've been going to this event since I was a kid, so it'll always be Jack Murphy Stadium to me.

Thanks for the corrections, guys!

Same here, I'll always refer to it as "The Murph". They did name the grass after Jack Murphy:
"In 1997, the facility was renamed QUALCOMM Stadium after QUALCOMM Corporation paid $18 million for the naming rights. The naming rights will belong to QUALCOMM until 2017. In order to continue to honor Murphy, the city named the stadium site Jack Murphy Field. However, as part of the naming agreement Jack Murphy Field was not allowed to be used alongside QUALCOMM Stadium. Many San Diegans, however, still refer to the stadium as "Jack Murphy" or simply "The Murph." The most common nickname these days is "the Q"."

I'll probably come down and say "Hi." I just hope the city doesn't charge me $8 to park.

Don't worry Buzzy, it'll probably be $10 to park. I'll see if I can swing by that morning, got some other stuff to do that day, but it's so close to my house, I really should come by and say hi. :)

And while I do work at Qualcomm, I'm not at the stadium. :)

I forgot about the Big 3. I miss going to that Swap Meet. Found many a great item there over the years. And yes the Q will charge for parking.
