[ Edited by: Dano 2009-03-23 11:50 ]

well I am there of course,
but especially since I missed the show at the Mayflower.

can't wait, at least its not far away,
time wise or distance wise.

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Sounds like a great time!

I'm in!!!

Dartin can finally make a Tikiyaki show.

Yup!

Lapu-Lapu time!!!

a little bird told me
that an infamous TC member from waaaaaaay up North
may be popping down for this event....
Can you guess who it is?

if you said Santa...
you're waaaay wrong
cause he ain't even real!

Instead of being hungover for the Grand Prix, just stay drunk. If we are allowed to leave the abode that is probably what we'll do!

Might bring my camera, but I won't be sticking my tongue out. Why? Is that some disgusting childish stupid tiki tradition I should be aware of?

I'll be there!

Let's see...that's about 5 days after Viva Las Vegas...I will definitely be ready for some Tiki action by that time. One can only handle greasers and Bettie Page wannabes for so long before you need your favorite Exotica group and a mai tai. :)

Great sign!
Can't wait to get there.

Make sure you bring the MUG you owe me.

You betcha. Which kind you like?

Maybe you'd like a bendy flower straw with that, Jim?

Hee hee...

See... this is what I like about Tikiyaki. Each show just gets better and better! Last show I had to drive a few blocks down to go to a tiki bar afterwards, this time they are bringing the tiki bar to me! You guys are so thoughtful. I really appreciate scheduling this show for me like that. You know, while you are making the effort... last show I wish I had brought more money. Can you do me a favor and see what you can do about that too?! I'd hate to get sober before the show ends again. shutter

and I want my Mug root beer damn it.

Jeff(bigtikidude)

This shindig sounds just swell! What luck this place not only escapes a bulldozer or some other horror - but instead survives and is crowned DON THE BEACHCOMBER. Am I dreaming? This kinda stuff just doesn't happen in real life...!

TS

Damn, man! This sounds like another fricken great event, and under the DBA Don the Beachcomber name to put icing on the cake! Now I have to evaluate my plans, as I can use my Birthday Admission at Disneyland, or roll to this event, both of which will never happen twice! Decisions, decisions....:x

Go to D land till 6 pm, then jam down to Don's.
problem solved.

"One can only handle greasers and Bettie Page wannabes for so long before you need your favorite Exotica group and a mai tai. "

Fingers Crossed~!

SOMEBODY'S gotta represent Big Wayne Coombs...

Well, I no sooner say we'll be drunk through the Grand Prix and now we have to do the Fangoria Horror Convention at the LA Convention Center. Maybe some of the zombies will follow us to Don's Sat. night!

Sound of brakes screeching!!!

You said "The first Don The Beachcomber on the mainland in over thirty years."? I was married in 1989 and our reception was at the Don The Beachcomber in Marina Del Rey. That was 20 years ago. How are you coming up with 30 years? Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to this event!

I heard that Primo is actually not that good,

Lookin' SHARP, Daddy O.

you guys are even uglier in black and white!
now HOW is that POSSIBLE?

Looks like the radioactive SHINE emanating from those polyester suits has given all you guys a creepy tan. . . .
Love the hair too, you know they're headed for the BIG TIME when the boys hire a stylist.

Really looking forward to this night!
Hooray for Don the Beachcomber!
So happy the way things worked out. :)

I'm so glad they're keeping the restaurant open! And as a Don the Beachcomber! I gotta get my butt down there before it changes hands again and I miss out! See you all there!

Got your MUG, Jim. Looks unbreakable.

Anyone thinking of eating there before the show? I'm planning to make a reservation but the Tikiyaki flyer says "doors open at six" but if you go look at the "Tiki Art Show Extended" thread, that says doors open at 4pm. Just wondering if anyone here knows if the restaurant is open before 6pm. Is it closed down and only open at 6pm for the show or is the restaurant booking reservations before 6pm?

I am assuming here,
but I think they open at 2 pm.

call or e-mail them.

I am planing on eating in the bar at 4.

Jeff(bigtikidude)

We open at 4pm
