That is a cheapo-but-cool plaster item offered in the 60s by Paul Marshall Products in L.A. and Johnson Products in Chicago: I love the text: They were pretty common in L.A. until the late 90s, when Tiki collecting became a wider sport. Oceanic Arts did a nice lamp based on it a couple of years ago, I got one: It was also used as a cheap prop on Gilligan's Island, as mentioned here: Could someone post a frame capture from that episode here? :) |

I always felt that these inspired the great modernist Moai at the Aku Aku apartments in Inglewood (BOT p.121): ..which in turn inspired Bosko's long-nosed Moai creations!: |
