Weird and cool! Never seen anything like it... Definitely not common. Where you found it!?

T

where I find most stuff!.....in the wild and weird jungle of disgarded gifts at GOODWILL lol
It's solid and heavy as well kinda like cement but I'm guessing some kind of resin.
(The roman numerals are there secret pricing system)

I see them around here frequently, but Old Mexico is right next door...

Buzzy Out!

That is a cheapo-but-cool plaster item offered in the 60s by Paul Marshall Products in L.A. and Johnson Products in Chicago:

I love the text:

They were pretty common in L.A. until the late 90s, when Tiki collecting became a wider sport. Oceanic Arts did a nice lamp based on it a couple of years ago, I got one:

It was also used as a cheap prop on Gilligan's Island, as mentioned here:

Could someone post a frame capture from that episode here? :)

I always felt that these inspired the great modernist Moai at the Aku Aku apartments in Inglewood (BOT p.121):

..which in turn inspired Bosko's long-nosed Moai creations!:
