Hmmm...on the maudlin side of sappy, I submit "Morningside" by Neil Diamond. It is bottomlessly sad, who wants to think that anybody could have that kind of footnote on their life? Ouch. |

Guilty pleasure? Bob Marley? My guilty pleasure - always play it low so no one can hear me listening to it especially in the car - "Teach Me Tiger" by April Stevens from the Ultra Lounge album Cocktail Capers (or the leopard sampler) - it's so goofy but I dig it! |

I don't get the guilty pleasure thing. If you like somethin', then do it. If it rocks your world, great. Bob Marley is very cool. "Waiting in Vain" is a love song. Although my wife hates Bob, I don't give a hoot. I will sing the song to someone else. (after a few beers) I listen to country, rock, alternative, old Pink Floyd is in a class by themselves, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Robert Palmer, Flock of Seagulls, Herd of Cows, School of Fish, Iron Butterfly, Chambers Bros., Gary Oldman, Golden Earring, ZZ TOP, Reggae, old and new Hawaiian, Steel drums, Jimmy Buffett, Emerson Lake and Palmer/Brain Salad Surgery bud, Steely Dan old, you name it bud, I like it all, except rap it's hideous, No guilty pleasures. It's all (mostly) good. [ Edited by: jungletrader on 2003-09-09 22:51 ] |

I'm guilty of being a hick and I don't shiv a git. I'll wear my cowboy hat and my boots and git on up. We were born to mothers who smoked and drank We got daddy's belt when we misbehaved It was a different world school always started the same everyday No bottled water, we drank from a garden hose It was a different life |

I love "Silly Love Song" by Paul McCartney & Wings... and maybe just as much: "Give Me Back My Heart" by Dollar (produced by Trevor Horn.)...great song, gushingly emotional maybe to the point of silliness, but it works. Does anyone remember Dollar? |

"Seasons in the Sun" Terry Jacks 1974 Pure melancholic sap. *Goodbye to you, my trusted friend. For even more drivel, the flipside of the single has song called "Put the Bone In", a love song about a recently deceased pet dog. Yikes! I still have the 7" single in my collection. |
