Diga Diga Doo Tiki Cat Forbidden Island. They also have some real nice high-end giclees. On stretched canvas - they are the same size as the original paintings, and are the best reproductions I've seen of my work. Even I have to look close to make sure it's not the original. Really, this is a classy joint, and sells only the highest quality giclees. That's 09/09/2009, don't know what it means, but it was weird to see on the calendar! And I'm still working on my all time Polynesian pop masterpiece! I am determined that this HAS to be the greatest thing I've ever painted. I have become a crazed maniac, like some fevered artist in a H P Lovecraft novel, staying up all weird hours and working on this image. (And it's a weird one!) But, I only got 7 days to finish, and get it scanned in by the printer, and transported over to Maui! I'm a bit nervous about this show - first time I've been hung in a wine a cheese kinda joint. I could use as many of the tiki tribe hanging around as possible. If I sell big, maybe next time there's a show in LA - or , as a tribe member suggested, I charter a Tikiyaki Airlines flight from the mainland to Hawaii! (Captain Lush zooming in for a landing somewhere near the gallery...!!!!!!!!) I stayed up late last night and finished the final painting.... it's ready for the show tonight! "Jungle Witch" (named after the Clouseaux song) 30" x 24" acyclic on canvas I hope the "fine art" wine and cheese crowd in Lahaina, Maui is ready for some "Low -Brow" tiki art! Big mahalo to Dick Sargent and everyone at Sargent's fine art, everyone who came by, and especially everyone who bought some art! I wish I would have taken more photos, but I think I forgot. Here's some I did get... me finishing the last painting up to the minute... The nice lady who put me up on Maui... wonderful folks from "Maui Arts and Culture Magazine" came by... Some old friends flew in for the other islands... I couldn't have done it without the support of good friends! Thanks again everyone. I may end up on the exotica hour podcast by Cudra Clover at KAKURADIO.ORG - hope I gave you something you can use on your way swanky pod cast. Special big mahalo to Maui Tiki and Beach Bumz - for dinner and drinks before! It was really great haning out, anm next time maybe we will catch a few waves.
