I can't imagine. Cinnamon or cassia is from the bark. Sounds like a marketing schtick. Vanilla/vanilla bean.

Actually, cinnamon is the inner bark of the tree/bush. I expect that cinnamon and cinnamon bark are pretty much the same.

I'm just gonna' chime in that although these syrups may be the same, there's a big difference between the average coffee-targeted cinnamon syrup and the cinnamon-infused simple syrup that's appropriate for cocktails. I think the best commercial cinnamon syrups (or cinnamon-infused simple syrups) on the market are still the ones by Sonoma Syrup Co. and BG Reynolds (formerly Trader Tiki). I'd be careful using anything other than these or your own homemade version in cocktails...

I have a bottle of the Sonoma Syrup, although I haven't opened it yet.
