JOHN-O's Tiki Bus Trip to the Hong Kong Inn (+ Rincon Room) - 3/24/12, Pictures start on pg 6

Pages: 1 2 3 4 146 replies

Maybe we should bring a couple of "backup" pineapples, just in case they run out at Hong Kong Inn? - LOL

Could it be me?

HT

Sorry Chuck, the extra person is John o lady of the night from las Vegas, "The Korean Midget".

T

Alene and I will be at the Rincon Room for sure... especially because the Beachcomber shack is 1.2 miles away! We might also cruise to the Hong Kong, depending on the trade winds, tides, and planetary alignment! Ha ha!

oof- I just saw this-sounds fun. Best Wishes to you all. Have a blast. :)

R

Oh, my Dearest John-O.
I don't wish to appear a flake in your eyesm but sadly I will now have to miss this SPECTACULAR event.

If you don't HATE me after reading this, I will owe you BIG time.

Your Tiki rosebud,

-Rose"red"
(who may soon be changing my tikiname to "RoseNOIR")

P.S. look on the bright side- at least now you will have one more available seat

J

But... I was doing all of this for YOU !! :(

One more available seat from me too. I'm going to have to miss this one. :( Sorry John.

J

OK, I received email RSVP confirmations from everyone on the bus list EXCEPT A-Frame and PiPhiRho...

Please let me know if you're still planning on attending.

Here's an article on the HKI from 1972 that Dustycajun posted. Uncle Jimmy and Uncle Tommy are still keepin' it real...

And the drink menu that Boris sent me. You get a lot of value for your Tiki dollar in Ventura !!...

The bus leaves promptly next Saturday from the Tonga Hut at 7pm. :)

Happy Dragon Drink?
wonder how that differs from an Angry Dragon?
:o

Jeff(btd)

Bus trip to have old school cantonese food and a drink out of a frozen pineapple.

Can't wait.

Did I already mention how excited I am for this?
Oh, yes, I did. But I don't care. This should be awesome!
Thanks again for all your hard work, John-O.

Hey, as long as people are flaking out, can I flake in? If there's a space on the bus I'll take it (please).

Hey John - sorry to do this at the last minute, but just found out my son has a baseball game Saturday night, so we're going to have to bow out...this leaves 2 bus seats though! Totally bummed because we were really looking forward to this. Have fun!

Me and Mrs. Lush are definitely in! Do we need to put our names in for a pineapple drink too? I hope its not too late!! I promise I will be there this time John!!!

Happy BIRTHDAY "JOHN O", We will celebrate on Saturday. The monday night agents have arranged For your Lady of the night in Las Vegas The Korean Midget to join you for a special dance for you at the restaurant in Ventura. Happy birthday John O.

Sent you a PM Birthday Boy!

Lisa Marie has concocted a special event cocktail at the Tonga Hut just for us. The original Trade Winds might be an empty lot but you can savor its essence with her "Spirit of the Trade Winds" cocktail.

It's the milk of Paradise :)...

I second SoccerTiki -- THANK YOU John-O and bongofury.
I'm really looking forward to getting to visit two tiki destinations tonight -- the famous Rincon Room and the infamous Hong Kong Inn.

TT

Don't forget...Tonga Hut.

J

Yes the Tonga Hut makes it 3... BUT I also have a 4th significant Tiki site that the bus will be visiting (traffic permitting).

Tiki isn't just about fun, food, and frozen pineapple drinks, it's also about knowing your Tiki history.

It's about worshiping our Tiki ancestors !!

Tiki Central = LEARNING. :)

Amen, braddah!
Until tiki is listed at Ancestry.com, the most significant archive of our Polynesian Pop cultural heritage can only be found at Tiki Central.

See all you tonight!
