I've been hoping the lack of activity on this thread was directly related to the hard work of getting ready for The Gathering. I know we've been spending every waking moment getting our 1972 Executive motor home ready to make the trek from San Diego and look good doing it! This is our second time and this is our favorite event. If I met you last year and can't remember your name, please blame the rum. We are arriving Thursday,is anyone else?

I will be providing the laid back sound track for your weekend.
Well except for the bands scheduled.

I'm kinda stuck In my booth area for most of the weekend.
Please stop by and say hi,
I always have a few extra chairs.
I take requests.
Accept tips,
And or food or drinks as tips,

See y'all Fri.
Jeff btd

I'm gonna miss Babalu :( But it will be good to see Ravers and the rest of you :D
I've got no sophomoric "farting man in the bathroom" pranks this time

Bummer,
That was one of the highlights for me.
But then again.
Im barely sophomoric, more like Freshmoric.
Will be good seeing you Mike.

Jeff btd

Mr. & Mrs. Dustycajun will be hosting a crawl stop at the "Mo-Tiki" on Friday.

The drink is called the "Hop, Skip and Go Tiki".

Smoked up a batch of Tuna/Yellowtail for appetizers with crackers and Jalapeno Jelly.

Paired with some Cajun Shrimp.

And, as always, the mystery Tiki Mug raffle.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

I'm really looking forward to another MO with your family, Tikirose. We must revive Dirty Dave's Dance Shack, the Peanuts Pit, and the go-go dancing party. I've been studying a few new moves. See you Thursday!

Anyone else arriving on Thursday?

Oh, and I know it's only a couple of days until the event, but are there any updated pics of the event mug?

You read about it, you heard about it, but never in your wildest dreams did you believe
it to be true. But there it will be in just three days, staring you square in the eye.
Yes, the infamous Cactus Cocktail is about to be unleashed this Saturday.

The kinks have been worked out, the problems corrected; this beverage with almost
certainty (58.3%) will not produce a rash or allergic reaction. In fact, the aloe content
alone will sooth any rash that it creates.

This alcoholic concoction was originally created by Doc Wetzel in nearby Calico during
the silver rush of the 1880’s as a salve for mineshaft flash burn.

(Old Doc Wetzel circa 1885)

The miners soon found out that Doc Wetzel’s salve had a very high alcohol content as the
prospectors ignored the warning label that indicated that it was not to be taken internally.
This was an understandable mistake since most miners were illiterate. It was not long before
Doc Wetzel’s remedy found its way as a staple drink in the town’s saloon.

The beverage was not without side effects. While it did have many medicinal qualities,
the drink also acted as an aphrodisiac. In retrospect it could be labeled as Prospector’s Viagra.
It was very obvious of who were inebriated with the drink as they were “sporting cactus”.

This was not a problem except for the fact that there were very few women in this old boom town.
Needless to say, Kactus Kate, the town’s lone woman of ill repute became the wealthiest
citizen of old Calico.

(Soiled Dove Kactus Kate)

Katus Kate kept a room on the top floor of Hanks Hotel

Heirs of Kactus Kate eventually parlayed her fortune into opening a casino with her
namesake near Stateline Nevada.

The Cactus Cocktail, available only this Saturday at the Tiki Cactus Garden
during the tent & trailer crawl at Mojave Oasis.

The Tiki Cactus Garden will also have Cactus Nectar shots available upon request as well as
Catus Spit which is a non-alcholic drink for any underage crawlers.

Rum Dog,
You always make this event seem less tiki and more Deliverance.

But in a good way

W

I will bring my banjo

I'll be there in about 48 hours :) I got a new digital underwater camera that I'm itchin' to try out. So unless you want pictures of your junk posted here, keep it covered while swimming

Zen Tiki Lounge is just itching to try our first tent crawl. Can't wait!

MOJAVE OASIS IS ALMOST HERE!!!! Oh, crap, I've got to get packing! Keeping it real in Tiki Shanty Town again! Can't wait!

I am sooo ready. See ya soon campers!

Please stop by and say hi,

Jeff, I made a 30 minute CD of mostly Spaghetti/surf Westerns classics to set the mood for my portion of the crawl. This should give you an opportunity to stretch your legs and socialize better while still being near your DJ spot. I will touch base with you beforehand to see if this is OK.

Hey, can anyone tell me if there is cell reception or wifi out there in the Oasis?

I had no problem with Verizon reception there, I think most people had cell reception regardless of carrier.

Filthy Midget and I will be getting there 5pm or so--we wanted to come earlier but I have a job interview in town before we head out.

Between the food/beer/clothes we are bringing this is either going to be one jammed pack weekend or we will be staying awhile.

Save a trailer next to Little Lost Tiki for us...I have some fireworks to set off under his trailer while he's sleeping so I want to be close enough to get his reaction on film when they go off at 2am

See you all sooooooon!!!

A quick last-minute stop at WalMart (yes, Teresa) and I'm OUTTAHERE! See you in about 4 or 5 hours :)

You all have fun without me.

I'm stuck on Kauai building Tiki Iniki!

Come on down to Little lost Tiki's trailer to enjoy some Happiness and Art!
it appears i will be having a FIRE SALE this weekend!
:)

Fireworks (and firearms.... unfortunately) are banned from the park,Dee...
