Thanks for the info I also found this mug at the same time , maybe someone's collection , we had a Trader Vic's in Vancouver up until '97 thinking these came out of there , sorry not too computer savy cannot fix the photo |

My assumption is it's not supposed to be oil filled but used with a votive small candle in a glass container. I think that is how most of the TV table lamps are/were. |

I have been told that the Kahiki one at first WERE oil lamps, then changed to electric. But one of my Trader Vic ones had a candle type holder in it. |

this glass thingy was inside looks like it might have held oil , again sorry for the poor photo , it is a glass cylinder with a wick like material inside |
