hi my friends,
Long time ago i started this traditional Maori "TekoTeko".
Today, after an endless period of sanding and staining ,i oiled the Tekoteko for the first time.
super smooth surface and wonderfull color!

Beautiful piece of work and Impeccable finish!

I think it was a real mistake giving that guy a club.
He looks like he knows how to use it,
and would.

today i worked on the modern style tiki. i shaped the paua/abalone shells for the eyes and put on a few layers of stain.

R
RIOTURBAN posted on 07/17/2015

"The Discus" after staining twice and varnishing twice.
i stained it normal brown first but changed it to a darker stain.
It makes the eyes really pop out
it looks black but it actually is a very very dark brown, but i guess it doesn't`t matter :).
