I was surprised to not see this up here already. I was in college when the original was running, then (thanks to Search) back in 2013 supposedly it was going to make a comeback. Not sure why it didn't happen, but it didn't. Fast forward to 2024 and the owner is able to get it the team back together again, where many of the original artists are contributing to decor once again. All the original stuff (tikis etc) supposedly was saved too, and by the few photos you can see on their social media it visually looks promising. I do know that the bar manager from Idle Hour is involved, and having met him a few months ago, he's very motivated. He's newer to the tiki scene than some of us, but not a noobie. Although I wish it was back in SFV as it would be closer to me, I'm excited to see a new place and hope it thrives. I'm sure some of you guys can speak more to the the original and what it was like, but 20 years later I'm hoping is only an improvement on the past. |

Thanks for posting this, Keith! I will be in Hollywood in two weeks, and I might see if I can swing a visit. |

Make sure you get reservations via messaging them on their Instagram or maybe Facebook. Hopefully they get a website up and running proper for this, but it's still pretty early. Here are some photos of the interior which share a lot of similarities to the original. |

Oh, jeez: "Reservations are required as the bar only has 45 seats. It is booked out for a month, and the owners asked people to be patient. There’s currently a waitlist. To get on it, you can follow them on social media and send a request."* Yeah, there's enough tiki bars around, I'll take a pass for the time being. A new place in NoHo, CanTiki, looked fairly empty when I drove past it last night... |

Well, I've sent a message, so cross your fingers. For completion's sake, here's the thread for the previous incarnation of the Lucky Tiki: https://tikicentral.com/viewtopic.php?topic_id=12669&post_id=219604&start=0#post-219604 |

Went Saturday night with Kirby and his wife. It was nice. I wore my T-shirt from the original LUCKY TIKI. I originally met Kirby and a number of other Tikiphiles at the original Lucky Tiki, like Atomikitty who was bartending there. We saw Bobby, the owner before we went in, and he said they are trying to get a night where Suzy (Atomikitty) can come in and guest bartend. Kirby's Lucky Tiki painting that was stolen from the original bar, but made it's way back to the reincarnated Lucky Tiki and is located nice and prominently at the front to the right of the greeting stand. I didn't get pics, but Kirby did. He probably posted them on his Facebook page: Kirby Fleming. Or his Instagram: @Kirby's Island We bought a couple of Lucky Tiki glasses, but ran off and left them at the bar. So, dammitall, I guess we'll just have to go back! Here's Kirby with his painting that was stolen from the Original Lucky Tiki, and made it's way back to the reincarnated Lucky Tiki. [ Edited by ernimator on 2024-04-29 18:09:13 ] |

When I messaged them on IG, I got a message back that at the time they were only open Thursdays-Saturdays, and thought, Well, that doesn't work with my schedule. But then as I was sitting in DIA on Saturday, April 13, waiting for my flight out, I realized (because sometimes it takes me a while to see the obvious) that I could check about a reservation for that evening and go there from Burbank before heading up to Ventura. That worked out, and I even ran into Mrs. and Mr. PinTiki! |

Hey Hamo, it was a nice surprise running into you at the Lucky Tiki. We loved the place and enjoyed our drinks too. Looking forward to going back in the future. |
