As a lifelong habitue of record shops, I thoroughly recommend this documentation of a cultural phenomenon that seems to be going the same route as first-wave Tiki. Let's support our record shops and keep an institution alive before recorded music falls into the exclusive ownership of the phone companies. This is one of the most well-written, enjoyable new books I've purchased in a few years. Peter Buck writes the intro, and he's the real deal. You can order it from Bud Plant @ http://budsartbooks.com/prod.cfm/pc/RECH/cid/23 |

Local OC record store Bionic records( the singer in the Offspring wore their t-shirt, in thier keep em separated video). I was sad to see a few of my favorite mom and pop stores close. But I will always be a fan of going to an actual record store, and flipping thru the stock. Jeff(btd) |
