Tikiyaki 3 might be the only album that can bump the first 2 Tikiyaki records from the "Most Played" list in my iTunes. I can't wait to get it and push "repeat all". kevin |

You know, I've always considered "Swingin' Sounds for the Jungle Jetset !" to be like the "Godfather Part II" or "The Empire Strikes Back" of modern Exotica, i.e. it improves upon the classic first offering. But I was really concerned that the follow-up might turn out to be a "Godfather Part III" or a "Return of the Jedi". How do you top the previous masterpiece ? Well tonight at the Tonga Hut, I was privileged to hear some cuts off the new album... I'm not concerned anymore. :) [ Edited by: JOHN-O 2011-07-10 11:48 ] |

Sorry Jim, but I'm an analog junkie. I'm always looking for cool old gear to add to the studio. Just added a Roland SRE-555 tape delay, and a Korg Mono/Poly synth. And here is my newest video deck: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJIIaMi2Hig ANALOG LIVES! Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Tiki Bill. |

Hey guys, we pressed 250 and I'd say that we are about halfway through them. That's after about a year of having them. Check out Pirates Press in SF, Jim. They were the most reasonable with pricing... But I'll tell you, it is a really expensive endeavor... We can talk costs, if you want to pm me. You can see the vinyl (it's translucent coke bottle green) and the packaging here: http://thehulagirls.bigcartel.com/product/hula-girls-the-curse-of-the-tiki-vinyl-record |

When will the new album be available as a stand alone CD? The super colossal deluxe edition with all the, ahem, souvenirs is SWEET but sadly WAY out of my price range. However, I'd still like to support the superb Tikiyaki Orchestra and buy the new album. When/where can I get it? |

Got mine today and wow is this a great record. Kudos to the entire Tikiyaki Orchestra on this project. It's gonna take a while to digest the entire experience (packaging included) but at this moment in time, I'm so happy to have Aloha, Baby! on repeat and a Mai Tai at arm's reach. Thank you Tikiyaki Orchestra! Kevin ps: it's too early to play favorites, but how good is La Hula Rhumba? And Kono's Revenge? Damn. |

OK, guys, how do you do it?! I just got my copy of the new album today and barely made it through the first track before falling in LOVE! I was hooked after the unexpected drum hits that sound once DigiTiki (it is him as our captain/pilot again, correct?) makes his in-flight announcement and casually signs off with "Aloha, baby!" THAT WAS BRILLIANT! Those drum hits say so much and really announce the arrival of something special. I love the whole backstory/lore built up around the album about the Tikiyaki Polynesian Village hotel, too. The album artwork/jacket really enhances the listening experience and allows the listener's imagination to run wild. ALOHA, BABY! is an escapist, transportive album, following in the footsteps - no, make that setting new standards and breaking new ground - in the grand tradition of Exotica music and all things Tiki. Fantastic job, guys! I will be spinning this disc for MANY years to come! I only wish I could live in the world of the album. |
