Tikiyaki 3 might be the only album that can bump the first 2 Tikiyaki records from the "Most Played" list in my iTunes. I can't wait to get it and push "repeat all".

Jim does it again!

Like a fine wine, Tikiyaki just keeps getting better and better!

S

whoa! this looks swank as ever; i'm definitely ordering a copy. and judging from the previous two installments, it's probably going to be one of those a-must have albums.

thanks tikiyaki

Man, that cover art would look sweet on a vinyl LP!!

Can't wait to hear it!

Cheers and Mahalo,
Jeff

Congrats Jim, Marty, JP and the rest. I am looking forward to this disc once I get back to town!

T

Always hungry for more Tikiyaki!

Congrats!

Jack

Man that's gorgeous!!!!

I'm sure it sounds that way too!

J

You know, I've always considered "Swingin' Sounds for the Jungle Jetset !" to be like the "Godfather Part II" or "The Empire Strikes Back" of modern Exotica, i.e. it improves upon the classic first offering.

But I was really concerned that the follow-up might turn out to be a "Godfather Part III" or a "Return of the Jedi".

How do you top the previous masterpiece ?

Well tonight at the Tonga Hut, I was privileged to hear some cuts off the new album...

I'm not concerned anymore. :)

Oh my! I love the cover art and I love the total immersion web site you created for the world of the album! Talk about blurring the lines between fantasy and reality! BRILLIANT! I can't wait to hear this new album! I love exclamation points! :)

Any samples posted somewhere for those of us not fortunate enough to make it to the Tonga?

T

We'll be posting a song to check out soon...in the next day or so....

Sorry,we would have done this sooner, but the grand opening of a hotel is a rather large undertaking, so we've been a bit tied up....

Aloha, Baby !

H

The site looks fantastic, and I love the big kit of goodies, but how can I buy just the cd? Did I miss that page somewhere...? Or isn't it available on its own yet? Thanks!

T

THis is pre-order for the Vacation Getaway package....

The CD should be available on the 22nd.

Vinyl Version Baby!!

can't wait to get the cd though,

Um, vinyl please

Sorry Jim, but I'm an analog junkie. I'm always looking for cool old gear to add to the studio. Just added a Roland SRE-555 tape delay, and a Korg Mono/Poly synth. And here is my newest video deck: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJIIaMi2Hig

ANALOG LIVES! Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Tiki Bill.

We have a winner !

BTW,this is the first Tikiyaki CD to include a performer OTHER than the "magnificent 7" (steady band members) ...

Crazy Al came in and did some killer jungle birds, monkeys etc .

Cool stuff.

S

Aye.

M'aye t'aye!

Damn Jim, looks like your going to have to get someone to spin up the ol' lathe

Come on Jim,
The Hula Girls did vinyl,

Jeff(btd)

T

How many do they have left ?

Spike,
How many did ya press?
how many have ya sold?
if we may ask,

Jeff(btd)

Hey guys, we pressed 250 and I'd say that we are about halfway through them. That's after about a year of having them. Check out Pirates Press in SF, Jim. They were the most reasonable with pricing... But I'll tell you, it is a really expensive endeavor... We can talk costs, if you want to pm me.

You can see the vinyl (it's translucent coke bottle green) and the packaging here: http://thehulagirls.bigcartel.com/product/hula-girls-the-curse-of-the-tiki-vinyl-record

T

That's pretty good numbers Spike. We'll talk on Sunday at Tiki Highway !

When will the new album be available as a stand alone CD? The super colossal deluxe edition with all the, ahem, souvenirs is SWEET but sadly WAY out of my price range. However, I'd still like to support the superb Tikiyaki Orchestra and buy the new album. When/where can I get it?

Got mine today and wow is this a great record. Kudos to the entire Tikiyaki Orchestra on this project. It's gonna take a while to digest the entire experience (packaging included) but at this moment in time, I'm so happy to have Aloha, Baby! on repeat and a Mai Tai at arm's reach.

Thank you Tikiyaki Orchestra!

Kevin

ps: it's too early to play favorites, but how good is La Hula Rhumba? And Kono's Revenge? Damn.

MH

To the T.O. folks, congrats on your new album!!! Hope that the release goes well and best wishes for lotsa sales and opportunities! Nice to sit in and guirate (to guiro, rapidly) with you at Hukilau

mr. ho

Whatever media...I am thrilled. Looking forward to it!!!

I got this initially, too, but I just went to the latest link that Jim posted and bought my copy. Can! Not! Wait!

Best wishes & congrats for Tikiyaki venture III !
Can't wait to hear it, fellas!
Cheers~
Andy

Ordered my copy early Wednesday morning! Can't wait to hear the new album!

S

got mine today, with all the goodies. i'll be listening to this for a while because there is so much to soak in. merci for the wonderful tunes.

OK, guys, how do you do it?!

I just got my copy of the new album today and barely made it through the first track before falling in LOVE! I was hooked after the unexpected drum hits that sound once DigiTiki (it is him as our captain/pilot again, correct?) makes his in-flight announcement and casually signs off with "Aloha, baby!" THAT WAS BRILLIANT! Those drum hits say so much and really announce the arrival of something special.

I love the whole backstory/lore built up around the album about the Tikiyaki Polynesian Village hotel, too. The album artwork/jacket really enhances the listening experience and allows the listener's imagination to run wild. ALOHA, BABY! is an escapist, transportive album, following in the footsteps - no, make that setting new standards and breaking new ground - in the grand tradition of Exotica music and all things Tiki.

Fantastic job, guys! I will be spinning this disc for MANY years to come! I only wish I could live in the world of the album.
