What's more important safety or authenticity?

Pages: 1 6 replies

I recently reworked a spear design to make it more authentic and subsequently stabbed myself in the foot. This experience left me wondering whether I was better off with a more authentic design, or one that isn't likely to stab you if you screw around with it. Just curious what you folks think....

This is what the tip used to look like..

This what the new tip looks like...

What do you think?

I know the simple answer is just not to screw around while handling a sharp object, but boredom sometimes prevails.

Excuse me...I have a sick mind so have pity...but I am laughing at the irony. I vote "authentic" and apparently that seems to suit its purpose!!!

The pointy and authentic one for sure. Besides, you now have a battle scar and a good story.

...noice...

I'd bet if we dug a lil' deeper, we'd find the motivation for this post originated in the "drinks" thread..

Troki for the win......

One should decide whether to work on cocktails or spears. "Both" can tend to be a bad call....

One should also think twice about twirling or juggling a spear unless you're a tribal drum major or circus performer. Sadly, I am neither..

Like they say, "never run with scissors".
