From the Honolulu Star-Bulletin or Honolulu Advertiser, late fifties or early sixties: No problem finding ginger root these days! |

This recipe was published in a book co-authored by the Star Bulletin's food editor, Betty Shimabukuro. Betty was really good about getting recipes from local restaurants. The book recipe calls for cooking them in the oven at 325 for 45 min. Anyways, having made this recipe (but only once), my notes for the next time are to marinate the ribs overnight and cook them in the crock pot, sauce and all, and then finish them on the grill. Replace the sherry with Shaohsing cooking wine. [ Edited by xequalswhy on 2024-06-24 22:29:11 ] |

Thanks for the details. The crockpot/grill option is more up my alley. :-) |
