It was time to ship to Tiki Ano. I had the perfect box for the Oceanic Arts Swap. My Oceanic's box from buying the Peabody book!

Off it went. I requested that Tiki Ano take photos with his two art pieces for me. It makes it even more special a swap. Wonderful photos thank you Tiki Ano. So cute too.

Are you all jealous since my swap brought me two works of Oceanic Tiki Art? Nooooooo, I know you all too well, you are all happy for me. We all had a wonderful swap.

Stuff is trickling in to it's new owners, this is one of my favorite times of the year!

Hang10Tiki's carving and the accompanying swag showed up in my mailbox yesterday afternoon. Great carving, so well executed. Along with LOTS of Frankie's swizzles, coasters, napkins, and straws.

I picked out a place of honor for it

Awesome Bamboo carving

I received a fantastic package.. before seeing Wendy's post above. My first thought was "Holy Moly! Someone sent me something completely amazing by accident!"

Then I saw the return address, and I thought, "Holy Moly! Wendy sent me the OA Book, that's completely amazing!"

Then I opened it up, and was not disappointed that there wasn't an incredible book/ auction catalog inside, but an incredible painting by Wendy (which, I admit I was expecting but the packaging threw me off). I took it into the Forbidden Maya Tai (home bar in the garage) to find where it might go....

(in the same place where I took the photos before sending the Swap pieces to Wendy). There's not a lot of wall space left, I'll either move it where I have a few other Swap pieces, or it might live in the home office- I love how the stars really bring the tiki out of the painting.

Wendy, I absolutely love this painting, thank you SO SO much!

I picked up my swap from the post office today.

I didn't really realize from pictures that it was as three-dimensional as it is. It's super-cool. Thanks again, David (and Mike); this piece and the swap were really great.

I love seeing all the pieces arrive. I had missed that CY's was bamboo. That's extra fun.

Tiki Ano you win for the best photos ever. Love you with my painting. Thank you so much.

Congrats all! I just got home so MaukaHale and I can work out details.

The mailman just delivered Joshua Bell’s box.

I haven’t found a place where to put it but here it is on the bar next to my Papua New Guinea shield. Joshua your project looks great and will add a lot to my bar.

Hooray! MaukaHale's package arrived last week but I waited to open it until I knew mine had arrived, since I was slow to send it.

It'll fit right in once I figure out how to shuffle the decor just right. Mahalo!

I ignored this thread for a few months, not truly knowing what it was. Recently I looked at it with my girlfriend and we both agree this a really great concept! Well executed art by all. Hopefully we can join in on the next one.

One of these days I'm going to have develop some skill so I can participate.

Everyone has a skill! There is no commitment to swap. You can always start a project and if it's not something you feel proud to swap, you just withdraw (quietly if you want). Over the years the Swaps have been made up by people on both ends of the spectrum. And some of the people who are quite good now were not as good when they started LOL

Since there is a second Oceanic Arts Auction, should there be a new art swap?

MaukaHale, traditionally we haven't had much luck with participation in a Swap this time of year. People get too busy with the holidays

But we can try if enough people seem interested
