ooooh I had this fantastic Espresso Chocolate Oatmeal Stout today...homebrewed by my fiance. I'm very impressed by this one. We just turned our bedroom bar fridge into a living room keg holder..fancy that...beer on tap at home! Sweeeeet! Anyone for a pint? Darned lack of western Canadian tikiphiles. |

Not being political, but this is becoming a collectable beer http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=39492&item=3286497510&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=563&item=3286382546&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW Bottles originally sold for $3.50. Has anybody tried this ale? [ Edited by: Tiki Bird on 2004-04-12 15:16 ] [ Edited by: Tiki Bird on 2004-04-12 15:18 ] |

I visited Alesmith last Friday for their Friday Special & got myself a growler of their IPA. The ale's amber to red with a white, rocky head. It's in the American Pale Ale style so Hops predominate the nose & back of the beer, but there's malt in the middle, maybe Crystal or Caramel Malt? It's definately better than what Alesmith used to brew when they 1st started. I was tempted to get a bottle of their Speedway Stout, too, but @ $10 for a 750 ml bottle I passed. It's in a league of it's own: Coffee Imperial Stout, @ 12% ABV & a cup of coffee per bottle it's the Speedball of beers! |

Meanwhile, in local news, Greg Koch (CEO of Stone Brewing Co. & creater of Arrogant Bastard Ale) will deliver the opening address tomorrow at the Craft Brewer's Conference & Brew Expo at the Town & Country Hotel in Mission Valley. This event will go on until Saturday, draws brewers from all over the world and (I would guess) must be one hell of a party. Way to go Stone! |

Tikibird, you did read the date on the press release, right? I think it's even better than last years "Extreme Lemony-Lime." |
