I have been finding tons of barware these days. Found these 4 rocks glasses today and then the 2 other sets of glasses were picked up in San Francisco (amazingly enough) at a thrift. "I could be a handsome prince, but its more fun being a horny toad" Steamboats: Frosted & gold sealife : |

Liz, I believe those steamboat glasses were mail order. I have a vintage playboy lying around somewhere, and if I can find it I'll post the add! sweet find! Instant update*** Southern Comfort had these bar or cocktail glasses made by Libbey as early as 1964 as a promotional mail order set. Notice in your photo the bottom riverboat that shows the "SC" for Southern Comfort in the center of the paddle wheel of the riverboat. Liz, I love that pattern. I have seen every piece imaginable for that set right down to the shot glasses and glass ice bucket. The seems to be really common around here so I have not picked any up.........yet. |

I hear ya Trav..I see them all the time around here but I am super cheap and refuse to pay what most places are asking. I have seen the gamut as well...there is a really cool glass serving tray that I want with the same pattern. These 4 designs are in pretty decent shape and they were only $4 for the set which was exactly how much I would pay for them :) |

I found a herd of pink elephant glasses at one of the church rummage sales, they look like pilsner glasses but I always associated pink elephants with sauce of higher proof. |

I have 6-7 "ice-o -mats" and "ice-o-matics" in various colors and configurations. Found this cool one today and had to have it cuz it's one I have not seen before. The knobs are huge (would make Tim Allen drool) and it's motor makes the coolest sound when you fire this guy up. It sounds like an old airplane and even"winds down" when you turn it off. It was only six bucks and change. My last purchase at this "Savers"was pretty pricey for a couple of B I P resin/wood hula girls although I hadda have them too. |

Hey Teepee Dattsa cool traveling bar. My son has a handful-wish he would give one to me for my birthday or something. He said they were easy to find and quite common 10-12 years ago. I have been unable to find one so until I do I use a small woven metal suitcase as my Mai tai kit when traveling. Carrys everything except the ice. Nice find yuo got there-luv this stuff. |

I swore off buying any more cocktail shakers-I have more than I'll ever need. At the Brea Goodwill someone must have donated their collection and there were some very nice ones on the shelves. I picked out two, one for my brother Tikivato and one for my son.I told my wife that I wasn't going to buy another unless it had a recipe for something other than a manhattan, whiskey sour, tom collins, etc, etc. Check out this one and you'll see why I could not resist. I am weak! |

Mahalo Hilt The only negative with this shaker is it's size. Can only make one Mai tai at a time. Size does matter. |

I have been unpacking some things into the new house and came across a box that I had not seen before. I am guessing it was my parents but I don't remember ever seeing these. If anyone is familiar with old Washington DC, there was a great department store called Lansburgh's that closed in the 70s and my grandmother worked there until they closed. I knew when I saw the box it probably had something vintage in it, but hard to tell what. Don't you love the old boxes? Wish stores did nice stuff like that again. This is what was inside. I know the middle one is typically used for grabbing pickles from tall jars, and the one on the bottom is used for cherries and olives, but the one at the top has me stumped. Anyone know what that gadget was used for? All three have mother of pearl handles. They will be finding a space in the new wetbar once I get to unloading dishes and such into it.

I found it here: http://ronaldsearle.blogspot.com/2007/01/lets-toast-to-new-year-with-lemon-hart.html Searle's art was used by Lemon Hart for quite a while and there are some other barware pieces with his characters on them. Cool find! |
