WOW, That looks like a Neat place to stop by after work and tip a few. Where is it located? Is it new?
Way cool, she lights up the place

That's your best one yet! Keep up the great work.

Very cool man, really like the look of that one, keep them coming.

Fine work, ToonToonz. Sounds like a great series too. Who doesn't love a hula girl?

Very cool, like that lei! So, where's the rest of the series?

They get better each time.

Great painting, I like the devil tiki in the back.

Yep, that is one neat painting. The place looks jumpin' but the competition looks tough if your a tiki. I dig your style Toonz! Good see to some new stuff from you.

Ya, maybe she walked into a gay tiki bar by accident? :D Not by the look on their faces. Sports Tiki Bar?
I love the art Toonz Man!
That's the coolest cocktail shaker that I have ever seen.
The tiki dancers that are on the dance floor. What song are they dancing to?
Then again, who said that all tikis are male?

Mahalo,

Thanks for all that wrote a comment and took a look at my painting.
This is only number 2 in the series of "Hula Girl Goes to Tiki Town" paintings that I have finished. I have many more ideas, several on canvas, but not painted. Plus working on new ideas as they come along.

Regarding the comment/question about the gender of the tiki characters. Actually, I never really thought about it.
I am still working through the concept of are the tiki characters:
a) people wearing tiki masks?
b) tiki statues that just happen to also have arms and legs?
c) all of the above?

K

really fine painting there man...i thiink you did a great job on everything in this image...you did esecailly well on what's under her flower lei ...i'm sold!!!

more tikis please!

T

Thought this might be of interest...
Not exactly tiki related - other than the characters are a bit wild - but it helps pay the bills so I can experiment with some tiki art.
My art (as the poster of the 2004 New Pop Music Festival in Germany) was on a booklet attached to the cover of the German newsweekly magazine, Focus. (Focus is the German equivalent of Time or Newsweek.)
