oh man, there's so many "wood" jokes to come up with, my brain just exploded. I always thought something like "Salida Ripon and the Jack Tones" had a nice ring, but then I drive through the Central Valley a lot. |

I've got a few of their records. They were a little harder than Pop Will Eat Itself. They also had a somewhat secret name they used to work under that was even better... |

The Purple Helmets with their first album: "The Rise of the Purple Helmets". Single from Album: "Here Come The Purple Helmets" Name before PH. The Shadowcasters; Same concept just had something to do with movie theaters and sitting in the back row. This is the on again/off again band I play in and our Album name that we never did record, but we rocked it mannnn!!!! |

WHAT HATH I WROUGHT?! :) i was just working on some floor design drawings and thought the term "tongue and groove" was poetic when removed from the techincal context. as in music = groove, and tongue = vocals. i was just being a cunning linguist. |

One of my old roommates played bass for a band called "The One-Handed Readers". They frequently shared the bill with an all-girl band called "Ballgagger" (that ShipwreckJoey has some sort of connection to if I'm not mistaken) With a name like that, they were destined for success, but alas, nothing 'came' of them... |

Right you are Dr. Z. My niece played bass in Ballgagger for awhile. My last wife played guitar with a girl band called The Castration Squad. This in 1978, back in the days of the Masque, the Starwood and the Roxy...L.A.'s "golden era" of punk. Back when you could go to a show and the only people who beat you up were the police. |

That was a pretty big list and I didn't really feel like reading it all. But I listen to some pretty bizarre stuff and I don't think any form of music can top Grind Core band names... here are a few of my favorite... Bitch Infection I could go on forever but I will leave it at that. Maybe later I will post some cracked out song names. Oh and most the cover art is equally funny/sickening as the names. |

Eh, quite honestly they don't make these names to shock people, it's basicly for the fans to laugh at. I guess if it does offend anyone than oh well. I've gotten booted out of places for some shirts of those bands haha. [ Edited by: Splattered Chunks on 2004-10-14 21:46 ] |

Did anyone ever go see a band that used to play at the Lingerie and other venues in L.A. back in the early to mid '80's called "Roid Rogers & the Whirling Buttcherries"...now that's a NAME. Helluva good band too. I remember when they were interviewed in L.A. Weekly or NOMAG (don't remember) when asked about the band membership Roid replied - "three two holers and two three holers". I guess that's what it all boils down to in the end. |

Her name is Bobbie. She was on the '97/'98 tour. She's now married to Corky Pigeon (Gain drummer and Ricky Schroeder's pal on the '80's TV show Silver Spoons) and she just had the cutest baby girl I've ever seen. |
