My First Carving, starting it 22-12-04

Okay, so, I just got my Christmas presents a few days early, since I'm having my hand opened up and having my tendons reattatched in my thumb the day after Christmas. Here's what I got:
It's a plunge router, circle cutter, has a straight edge attatchment, a right angle grider, and a flexshaft, to turn it into a dremel. It's pretty hardcore too. IT's got a 5amp, which is as much as smaller angle grinders So, it's perfect for tiki carving.

And this for general carpentry work.

I was also given a bunch of English Walnut, which isn't exactly an exotic wood, but gives a damn find color. I expect to have something in the next two days, hopefully.

HT, we'll be waiting for pic's. Those are some serious tools you have there. English Walnut is some beautiful wood and will make Nice carvings. Hope the thumb turns out OK.

Count your blessings! Walnut is pretty expensive wood, and beautiful! Glad to here you got some free, I'm sure it will go to good use!

Good luck with the surgery!
