Congrats to all the Treasure Finders, whoever you are! Many of us have identified ourselves already in earlier postings.

I guess I understand the confidentiality, Holden, er Dagmar, but it would be nice to see that Anyone, from Anywhere, had a chance of locating the treasure and clues. I "partnered" up with 2 Southern California ohana to get started, but once we banded together, we all located the virtual clues. To repay the mana, I even gave a few hints to other TC ohana in different locals so they could sniffing out the clues.

I had a GREAT time, thanks again, Holden! I have been storing up so much Tiki and Aloha information lately, it was nice to put some of it to use when deciphering your clues.

Ready for the next round!!!

Thanks Holden, verging on the Dagamar obsessed & tiki neurotic at times during the hunt, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Weather I win anything or not. It was fun. I would hope that even though the hunt is over people will still attempt to find the last clue, which in my opinion was the best part of the hunt! Many mahalos Tiki Farm and everyone who participated!

Ok, ok...a little joke. I don't want this to turn into a Tiki Mag bashing thread. The Magazine is awsome and Nick puts a zillion hours of hard work to get it out there, plus work a regular job (or irregular - he teaches, which takes a lot of personal time as well). We all owe Nick a debt of gratitude for the beautiful job he does with the mag and his un-ending support of the culture!

Forget the clues, I just figured out what was so funny in the Bamboo Ben comic.

Not bashing the magazine at all... rather the inability of everyone to start hunting at the same time.

Here's the map showing the location of the winners. IF a clue is somewhere where you think you can't get to it quickly or at all, as I said earlier and from the outset, strike an alliance or find somebody to help you. Many of the emails from the winners indicated that's what they did. It's a treasure hunt... there will ALWAYS be obstacles and hopefully the hunts will always be fun! That's what it's all about.

Mahaloz,
Holden

Can anyone describe how the game is actually played, or would that give away too much for the next time?

I saw some fuzzy type on the back of the ad that pointed to a location in southern california, but then what were you supposed to do?

The website wasn't even clear about what you were supposed to do with the answer once you got it -- am I daft, not in the right mindset for the game, or missing something because my computer didn't show it?

I believe we can answer this by referring you back to the original info that Holden provided about the hunt. I don't remember if it was an e-mail or if it was on the website before the clue was posted. In any case, I don't have the exact text anymore, but it said something along the lines that you would have to visit several locations, both real and virtual.
I hope that helps you out. I agree with Tikichic that we shouldn't be giving away the answers, so I don't think I should be any more specific than that.
Good Luck!!!!! :)

WooHooo! I received my booty today :) Mucho Mahalos to Dagmar & Holden :)

*I promise everyone will like what they receive.

It had to happen sooner or later!!!!! One of the winners is selling their "booty" from the Great Tiki Treasure Hunt!!! Ebay (I don't knowhow to post it, but there is only a couple hours left!!!!! Maybe I'll buy a companion for mine!!!

It's interesting that they didn't photograph the front of the shot glasses. I guess the rarity of them is what's driving the sale.

DZ

It's also interesting to see that nowhere in their ad do they mention what number their set is, and if you look at the pix, they carefully blocked out the "#___/23" on the card for the mug. However, they neglected to block out the number on the set card, so you can see that this is set #7. Why they'd go through this I haven't a clue (a lower numbered set/piece always sells for more), but I have set #8, so whoever won right before me - this is their set!

I happened to send an Ebay message to the seller asking why they put the time and effort into finding the Treasure, then sell off their booty on Ebay. I got a very courteous response from the seller. Apparently both the seller and her husband sought the Treasure, and both found it about the same time. Since they both got sets of mugs from Dagmar (aka Holden @ Tiki Farm), they didn't feel they needed to keep both. So, off to Ebay one went.

I never inquired if the Seller, or her husband, were part of Tiki Central. I would have thought that announcing the Ebay listing on TC would have brought in a higher price than she got.

Can somebody post a picture of the front of the shots?

D

I hadn't realized that no one shared images of the booty, all three shots are the same except for the stamped impressions on the back. And thanks again Holden!!!

Just this week I discovered TikiChic was using a second TC profile (profile: hioutput) to attempt to acquire a second set of Grand Member Shag prints. When I confronted her about it, she admitted to me that she was signing these messages "Jason".

The email name coming from the second TC profile? "gr8stuff4me". How similar is that to this eBay seller on this auction(gr8stuff4me2)?

TikiChic claimed that she was doing this for her "brother-in-law", but my records show that Tikichic was the only person to ever log into the profile.

Interestingly, she's deleting her TC posts now.

My guess is if I had shipped her the Shag prints they would have ended up on eBay pretty quickly, just like this auction.

I dislike having to make posts like this.

WooHoo! The Grand Prize??? I thought I received the Grand Prize. Did you steal it from me???

Good thing I settled for 3rd place! And, NO, its mine mine mine!! But thanks for the offer, SoccerTiki! Make sure your First place booty is in a SAFE place, WooHoo! Sounds like SoccerTiki is sneaking around seeking more treasures.

Can't wait for round two and more booty!

Aw crap! You mean the contest hasn't even started yet? GROG thought the first clue was "Coming soon", so GROG went to Peter North's website which led GROG to at least 6 other porn websites. GROG thought GROG was winning contest, but the damned thing hadn't even started! Funny thing was, all the porn sites had links to Holden's Myspace page.
