Please check this guy out. From my IMac I cannot figure out how to upload photos from Sutterfly. This Tiki is at least, 30 years old, solid wood. It is blue as you see. I swear I saw this when I was a kid, but I don't remember where? http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5ce31b3127cce94d83ade3f2200000016108QZOWTFo2c8 http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5ce31b3127cce94d83ace3f3200000016108QZOWTFo2c8 http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5ce31b3127cce94d83ac23f3e00000016108QZOWTFo2c8 http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5ce31b3127cce94d83ab7be7b00000016108QZOWTFo2c8 http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5ce31b3127cce94d83abfbe7300000016108QZOWTFo2c8 http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5ce31b3127cce94d83aa43f5800000016108QZOWTFo2c8 http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5ce31b3127cce94d83aafbe6300000016108QZOWTFo2c8 http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5ce31b3127cce94d83a97be5b00000016108QZOWTFo2c8 Before the Revolution, the per capita consumption of RUM in the Colonies was 3.7 gallons PER person. Perfect Spermy...I have attached all the other photos, but I am techno-ignorant and cannot get the images to show. By the way, it is 38.5 inches tall, and 24 inches in diameter at its widest point. The detail are finely carved or milled. It is the first wooden Tiki I have bought. |

I was visiting friends in Phoenix last May and saw this tiki in that antique store. I bought a lot of stuff there but couldn't afford this guy. Here's the pic I took on my camera phone. Glad he's found a good home! |

T'is a good one, though I am afraid I can't say much more about origin, period or carver. By the style of it I would say it is nouveaux Tiki revival, but then it has marks and dents that make it appear more vintage. Can you tell by the wood how old it might be? Anybody does carbon dating here? |

Big Bro & Juno: This Tiki actually came from Scottsdale, as opposed to Phoenix. from your photo, Juno..it appears quite unlike the place I bought it..who knows. I believe it could also be from Mexico, as I have seen carved totems down there that resemble the teeth cuts. It is a well made item, however. I believe it was anchored as their are bolt holes in the bottom. Any help to solve the mysterious blue tiki would be very appreciated. |
