Tiki Birds

I have a Philippino basket that hangs in the Lagoon Lounge.

Just before I left for a couple of weeks, I had a pair of wrens begin a nest in the basket.

Since I got back last week, I've been pretty sick, so I've been able to watch the pair feed their chicks.
And today, the little fluffy chicks flew out of the basket and were herded out of the screen room by mom and dad and they're gone.

One afternoon - from clumsy flight to goodbye.
I was gonna take some pictures and everything but.. it all happened so fast, I didn't have time.

Now I wonder if the snake that lives in my garden will get them. Or one of the cats. Or where they'll sleep. Or what they'll eat.

I hate being attached to stuff. I should have smashed them when I had the chance.

Arrrr.

The thing above Joe the Beachcomber's head (he's the dapper young gentleman with the beard and the uke) is the basket where my.... my.... sniff...

Here are "my" baby birds, in a nest in the eaves outside my kitchen door. I'm so stressed because the mama bird flies away every time I open my door.

Aren't they just the cutest things?
