In the intro caption to Trader Vic's recipe for the Scorpion Bowl, he mentions that the original Scorpion Bowl was made with okolehao and rum. It occured to me recently that the tiny amounts of gin and brandy in the recipe could have been his attempt at reproducing the flavor of okolehao. I looked around a bit and noticed that his Fogcutter recipe had a similar gin & brandy mix thrown in. Did Trader Vic have any other drinks with both gin & brandy in them? |

In the 1947 book he has 101 pages of Gin cocktails and at 7 recipes per page there must be dozens ....The best way to find out look at some of the online mixology databases such as webtender.com and plug in the ingredients. |
