Which "West" came first?

Ok, I couldn't find a topic answered regarding this, but does anyone know which came first...Westwood ceramics or Westpac? Or were they the same, but different "branches" of a parent company(both are from japan)? They have some unique tiki mug designs from what I have seen, but both companies share an uncanny resemblance. Any clarification on the historys' of the companies, or collector insider info is much appreciated. I've searched the i-net, but have been unable to find any proof positive about these mug makers. Thanks!
