witco find...

Pages: 1 5 replies

i was at the brimfield flea market this past weekend, and i stumbled across something i'd never thought i'd see...a guy that had a witco furniture set!

i ended up with a bar and a bar stool (with a witco label attached) and a coffee table that is shaped like an alligator (or at least, that's what i think it looks like)...the feet of the coffee table are tiki heads...

i have to get pictures so i can post them here...

are there any recommendations for care of the pieces? i went over them with pledge wipes just get them clean, but i would love some ideas of what other people use to keep them in good shape...

thanks...

nimereht, was it any of this?

I also got lucky at Brimfield this year! First time I ever see Witco there.

This tag that Tikisgrl posted may be some help with care (I'm kinda looking for advice too)

yeah! thats the stuff i bought!

i didn't really care for the couch and chairs...i guess i lucked out and was able to split the items? i think the seller thought he could sell it all in one fell swoop...so i got the bar, the stool, and the coffee table for 1400 bucks...

i have no idea if that's a deal or not, i just wanted this stuff for my tiki room...

Cool. I was wondering if anyone from here would get that stuff.

I have no idea what the pricing should be. I'll leave that for the many experts here.

I'm just thrilled that there was Witco at Brimfield!

I think I may have gotten very lucky with my stools. The dealer didn't know what Witco was!

so you found witco there at brimfield, but not from that guy?!

that's awesome...

a friend of mine was going on and on about brimfield and i've never been...he keeps saying the whole time, "they have everything!"...and i kept thinking, "yeah, but they'll never have witco!"...

so about 5 hours into this madness, we cross the main street to go sit down and just chill out for a while, and i pass this guy's booth (which i never would have found if we hadn't crossed the street at just that moment!) and i proceed to into shock (my wife and friend describe it as a seizure!)...

so i did the whole "play it cool" bit and started talking to the guy...originally all i wanted was the stool, but he would not budge...he wanted to sell the stool AND the bar...or the couch AND the coffee table...

after a while he said he'd do the stool and the table for 1200..when i got back with my car he said he'd do the bar for another 200...i said i'd do it if it fit in my car...it fit, and i'm glad i got all this stuff back home...

Nimereht, I sent you a P.M.
