I haven't gotten into this anywhere else yet, but I guess this is an appropriate forum for it.

New Line renewed the option last year, and we have a screenplay and a director attached. But my guess would be that when the final option expires later this month, it'll be up for grabs again. I'd love to see New Line purchase it outright (their only remaining option), but I would bet against that happening.

Not a completely bad thing, mind you. There's more interest in the project out there, and with the right investors, there are great benefits to filming this particular movie in Hawaii.

I'll keep TC posted as things change.

For a long time I was just hoping for any movie to be made, but at this point I'd really like to see** Hawaiian Dick** done well in other media.

Well, I still think a movie may happen, but it's a tricky road!

If it ends up shooting, I'll pass along the suggestion of using the TC boards can serve as a talent pool for tiki bar extras.
