After the hints on SHOUT! last night so am I..you better be taking a camera!

TL

I am so looking forward to this!

TL

(Bump!)

Just a mere 30 minutes from now kids!

Billy Shire Gallery is on Washington just a few blocks inland of La Cienega, near the 10, in Culver City.

Sitting in the miniature dream house.

TL

Beautiful work by Shag on the walls, with a hilarious little home in the middle of the gallery: built by our very own BBB, paint by Josh, and complete with "serving suggestions" for the little people, inside.

If that doesn't 'splain it to you, git yrself to Billy Shire and have a gander!

Lion spottings: Bora Boris, BambooBen, Crazy Al, CaliTiki with family & friends (but where's the puppy?), and of course the Shagmeister hisself, dressed to the nines and sporting a glorious stemmed glass bowl big enough for won-ton soup.
(If we talked and I didn't list ya, please accept my apologies - 100 images hung like cocktail-napkin packs filled my brain!)
Good to see y'all: and way to show up for a fellow tikiphile!

I just love this guy's work!

Love that bull-fighter....always such great subject matter from Shag. :)

It was awesome to be able to work with one of the top (tiki) artists of our generation!

It was also nice to take a break from my normal tiki build out routine.

If any of you are in the area, go check out this show.
It runs to Oct. 20th ( Shag will be signing that day).

When you're inside, you kind feel like John Malkcovich!!!

Watch your head, man!!!

Visit me on Myspace too! It's Benz Arts fault!

Damn,

Ben, can you build me one of those to live in ?

It's Basically a 1/10th scale of my dream home.

Nice work and congratz on working with SHAG. Hopefully he feels lucky to have Bamboo Ben working with him show too.

That's so cool!!! your mini house rocks, ben, AND it's decorated with shag art! How much better can it get? I'm bummed I missed the opening, I gotta go up and check it out!

I didn't want to give away the whole show on your house in my earlier post Ben, thank you very much for bringing it to the forum!

Beautiful work on both your parts - you're a natural pairing, and I'd love to see you guys collaborate more!

P

Yes! Great work - I still wasn't sure exactly what it was from the hints! What a cool project, especially to get to watch all the opening night attendees interacting with it. Sweet! How many bits does it break down into?

The Shag exhibit was amazing and it was great to run into a bunch of friends.
If you have a chance go to the gallery and check it out.

Oooh! Rumble at Hinky Drinks on Saturday! Be there!

Hey Ben very Kool man , another kool item is my freind Suzzanna,s Redwood sculpture in the middle picture

Yep, That's SuZee's cool sculpture all right! It's on the little white table.
I LOVE the fact that a famous artist like SHAG has appreciation for other people's art; especially hers. SHAG actually has a few of her sculptures, and one of them usually accompanies him to his shows. I used to sell her art here in Vegas when she and her hubby lived here. They just bought a Super-Cool Mid-Century house outside of Milwaukee and are slowly settling in after the move. You can still get her art via her website; http://www.suzanna-anna.com/ . Go visit the website and check out the wonderful stuff that she and her husband make. Drop her a line, too. I'm sure she'd be glad to get a few new "friends" of her artwork!

yes we meet from e,bay and have been freinds ever since ,there realy KOOL & And She Flippin ROCKS , I have in my daughters room two of Her wall Sculptures and was luck enough to have gotten her last purse for my Daughter it was her Graduation present everyone wants that purse so we watch it very closely HEHE . Yes Shes the Bomb
