Don Tiki in Vegas - with the Penthouse Pets

Last Saturday, the band Don Tiki played for the grand opening of a new Hawaiian Tropic Zone club, located in the Planet Hollywood resort. This must be right next the new Trader Vics .... the address for Trader Vics is 3663 S. Las Vegas Blvd, and the Hawaiian Tropic Zone is 3667 S. Las Vegas Blvd. Among the guests for the grand opening.... football players Reggie Bush and Brady Quinn, Carmer Elektra, a couple of MTV reality TV stars I had never heard of, ... and yes, various Penthouse and Playboy models. From what I've read of the Hawaiian Tropic Zone club, it is somewhat anti-tiki, featuring the largest video wall in vegas, and not much actual Hawaiian decor. Also, the bikini and sarong-clad waitresses participate in nightly beauty pageants, walking across a catwalk underneath the large video wall. On the other hand, musician Steve Van Zandt was also present at the opening event - he has hosted some Underground Garage band events at New York's Hawaiaan Tropic location, bringing in bands such as Los Straitjackets and the Woggles (along with go-go dancers dancing on the catwalks) Who knows, the Vegas location might be fun too, if you go on the right night, if a good band happens to be there that night. The nearby Trader Vics might be quite relaxing and soothing, after paying a visit to the Hawaiian Tropic Zone.

Las Vegas Blvd. It is on the opposite side of the casino near the sports book and the other entrance of the Miracle Mile Shops that faces onto the Strip.
