Trader Vics coming to Portland? - General Tiki

As for the first floor of the building, Trader Vic’s Restaurant Co. is reportedly considering the space for its entry into the Portland market. A source at Trader Vic’s tells GlobeSt.com that it has been looking at multiple locations in Portland but has not signed any lease agreements. I kinda remember their old location being pretty great! The old location was along Broadway, the main drag through downtown, in the Benson Hotel, one of the top hotels in town. It closed before I turned 21, so I never visited it. As I recall, it closed for the same reason as many other tiki places closed in the '80s. The "El Gaucho" steak house is in that space now.
