Oil on Velvet Conch Blower-Can you identify?

I recently came across this painting. It looks like it says "Gagne 56 Manila" in the bottom right. Does anyone know anything about it? Mahalo in advance!

Still waiting for some sophisticated tiki freaks to chime in and tell me about the painting.........

It was probably painted in 1956 in Manila by a guy named Gagne. It's a black velvet painting of a guy blowing a conch shell. It's most likely oil paints on stretched velvet.

Grog you forgot that the frame looks like it is made from some sort of wood. Perhaps from a tree of some kind. Nice painting.
