I asked my local antique dealer to keep an eye out for tiki mugs. She said "Oh yeah! Those are worth a lot of money!" She went on to explain to me that she saw them on some sort of "Antique Roadshow" or something on TV.

Oh Despair! How will I ever get a collection of Tiki mugs if the antique freaks drive the price up?

Hey, check out my radio station on live365. It's called Exotica Tiki Lounge

Just another example of another dealer who knows nothing about tiki other than that "its really hot right now" so they price all their Trader Dick's Peanut mugs at $35.00 each.

Although entertaining to watch, its shows like Antiques Roadshow and Incurable Collector that bastardizes our hobby.

Collectible shows are poop. Dealers that pay any attention to them (or the dreaded price guide for that matter) are poop.
