I always thought of him as the circus owner in the Planet of the Apes movies...or in Star Trek II as Kaaaahhhhhhhhnnnnnnnnnn!

I have a (sorta?) "brush with fame" moment that involves Mr. Montalban. Crazy as it seems, I did modelling as a child, and I was chosen for a photo that was printed the LA Times Sunday Home section when I was around 10. The photo shoot took place the exterior Fantasy Island set. They weren't filming at the house that day, so I didn't get to meet Mr. Rourke or the rest, but I did spend the day posing on the porch and at the dock and pretending I was in an episode of Fantasy Island between set-ups.
