The Windy City's 'Lords of Libation', the Cocktail Preachers, and the 'Kings of Raucous Desert Surf', the 'Mighty' Madeira will be descending on Champaign, IL on Saturday, May 30. Many of you are familiar with the Preachers from Chicago Exotica events, the Hot Rod Hula Hop and many other appearances. The Madeira are also veterans of Exotica, the Hula Hop, as well as the Atomic Frolic and other events. As many of you know, Ivan of the Madeira is the former lead in the Space Cossacks. The appearance is only the second this year for the Madeira who's bandmembers are now scattered all over the US. The show will be held in the 'Enchanted' Beer Garden at Mike & Molly's (105 N. Market St., Champaign, IL 61820). The 10'6" wooden Tiki monolith "Korn-Tiki" (of Atomic Frolic fame) might make an appearance...as will DJs from the Surfabilly Freakout radio show. We might even get 'King Bachelor' Java to give tours of his penthouse for those who make the trip (that event is still in negoitations). Hope you can make it! Date: Saturday, May 30 |

Less than a week away! Join the Surfabilly Freakout and a mad-capped cast for Surfy Murphy’s Beach Riot at Mike & Molly’s in downtown Champaign, IL on Saturday, May 30. Korn-Tiki (the smoke and confetti belching 10’+ Midwestern Tiki monolith) will be presiding over the evening’s events. Entertainment will include the raucous desert surf of the ‘mighty’ Madeira who will be celebrating their 5th anniversary as a band and will perhaps be playing their final US show of the year (they are off on an Italian tour this summer). In addition, the Windy City’s Lords of Libation, the always-awesome Cocktail Preachers will share the bill. The evening will include exotic Murph-Tails and plenty of other surprises.
