Looking for a Taboo Tiki Bike

Pages: 1 39 replies

I'm looking for a Von Franco Dyno Taboo Bike. I live in Brea, Ca. PM if you are selling one?

Thanks
Rob

Good luck with that...I've been trying to find one for about a year now with no luck. Someone had one chained to a pole at Bamboo Ben's nooner..and me without my boltcutters that day

I know where 1 is hanging on a wall not being riden.

I found a few, and then the instantly go. Its getting tougher to find.

This may not help but I found mine on ebay. Usually not cheap and shipping is like $100 or so - they are not light!
But if you have the $$$ its a cool ride!

thanks

Just popped up this evening.

The Von Franco bike price bubble has burst. Last week he had it listed for $550...I'm predicting a trend of lower priced bikes flooding the market.

Next week I'll bet it's almost free!
Buzzy Out!

looks like it, I should wait a bit. 500 is a chunk a change.

I agree...similar Dyno bicycles go for about $300, of course the TT bike is out of production and of course it's super cool. I saw a post on some internet forum (sorry, forgot to write it down) where some guy was willing to trade his TT bike for a Dyno Mooneyes bike..and I just happened to see a Mooneyes bike at a bike shop over the weekend. I'm going to have to go back and see how much it was, it might be worth it to buy it and make the trade.

Good luck, pal. I hope you get it. I'm gonna wait a bit.

That's nothing, dude - I know where there's a whole pile of tiki mugs that have never been used for drinking.

I have seen 2 or 3 of these come up in NZ on our local auction site over the last couple of years - I'm always tempted, but the $500+ price tag and a lack of suitable garaging/storage conspire to keep me bikeless. If I did get one, I would probably have to hang mine on the wall too!

Any one find one?

Weren't GT Taboo Tiki bikes made in China anyway.
You are better off with a vintage Schwinn, they always seem to hold their value.
I will keep my eyes peeled for you Tiki phantom .

Thanks

Lol I came in here to do the same thing. Look at the post right above you. There yea there. That's it!

If you are only willing to spend a certain amount then maybe you should post that amount here. You were looking for the bike so you found it...but since they are collectible and not many were made you aren't going to be able to find it for super cheap very easily.

Having a price point posted may be helpful to anyone that may want to sell you theirs.
Just a thought!

U R not going to find it any cheaper then that phantom.
You better jump on it!!

Its what ever some one is willing to pay for it.This is an odd shaped board.
Its actually a Lazer Zap shape that Peter Schroff and MCcoy surfboards experimented
with in the 1980's.You would have been better off having a longboard as the canvas
to have been airbrushed then this short board. You are de-railing Tiki phantoms thread.
You should start your own thread with this board.
