Origine Rum

I have never seen it before, so I picked up a bottle tonight the "Amber Estate Reserve".
Not to bad at 26 bucks I would get it again, pretty good in a Mai Tai.

The label says
"A blend of 7 craftsman distilled rums, featuring those from centuries old estates, from Demerara and the islands of Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad."

Anyone else try it???

Origine Rum (the white, I think) won a gold medal at last year's LA County Fair. I was actually surprised as I thought it was an Albertson's rum and didn't think much of it otherwise. Of course, there were not that many rum entries at the LA County Fair, and the rum judges as well as the instructor of the Rum Seminar at the fair admitted that they really didn't know a lot about rum. Still, they were amazed at the turnout for the class and said that they would do another one this year.

So anyway, back to the point. I have only ever had the white and it was OK but, in my opinion, unremarkable. Perhaps I need to give it another look.
