So what restaraunte's let you keep (buy) mugs? I'm mostly only interested in those on the eastern or midwestern part of the US.

A few years back I went to the Jeckyle and Hyde in the Village (NYC) and they had a cool pseudo-tiki bar upstairs. Bought a drink that came with a headhunter. quite cool.

Are you involved with Laney?

For Ben: bah dum pum tissss!

R

This is me..............this is your point.

Bring us together please!

I must have missed something. Oh well.

You can buy mugs or get them with drinks at

  1. Trader Dick's (Reno Nev)
  2. Purple Orchid (El Segundo)
  3. Bali Hai (Shelter Island San Diego)
  4. Trader Vic's (Emeryville)
  5. The Mai Kai (Ft Lauderdale)
  6. The Hanalei hotel (Islands Room San Diego)

Is that it? There must be more.
Mahalo,

Politiki in Washington, D.C.

I recently bought several mugs for $5 each at Waikiki Wally's and Ottos Shrunken Head, both of which are in NYC. Also the new Kona Kai in Philly has mugs for sale but they are a major rip off at $12 each.

Hopefully you'll be able to do this at the Hale Tiki soon.

Honolulu in Alexandria!

If you're with Poly Pop, EVERY places lets you keep the mug, menu, silverware, drink menu, cigarette machine, cash register, waitress's panties, parking lot, gas lines, water lines, dish soap, toilet paper, toothpicks, TV, radio, door frame, sidewalk and gum machine by the door!

Hula's has Munktiki and Tiki Farm mugs with the hulas logo on back.

K

Coconut's gives you a free plastic cup (with their logo and a palm tree) when you buy a beer. Best we can do in Dallas.

Alnshely,
Don't forget Pete Mallory's at the Huntington Beach Hyatt (Not a true tiki restaurant though).

For locals an on-every-thrift-store-shelf-find, but Burt Hixson's Warehouse let's you have their Rum Barrel with the drink of the same name, (a potent concoction!)

My boss was just on a business trip in Chicago, and he brought me a large plastic tiki mug from Bob Chinn's. I believe it's free with the purchase of their mai tai.

Kon-Tiki in Shreveport, LA tells me thay sell a marked bloody Mary glass (just a clear glass with the name of the restaurant). They also offers un-marked Dynasty mugs.

Aloha in Springfield, MO will let you keep one of their Dynasty mugs (new mugs from old OoH molds) for $7. None of them are marked with the name of the place though.

When I was at Kon-Tiki in Tucson, AZ last fall, the manager said they'd be selling drinks in a mug before long and he gave me a sample. Its a heavy blue-green mug of a simple design made by Libbey. He didn't say if they'd be marked or not.

Forgot Taboo Cove. They have the new reproduction mugs made in china such as the bamboo tumbler and fu manchu. At one point, you could but the large bowls that Bosko hand made, but i think those are gone.
You can save a trip if you are just hunting mugs, the same chinese made mugs are available from Bosko's sight; he supplies Taboo Cove with them.
Don't think it was mentioned, but Tiki Ti has been selling Tiki Farm mugs with some of there drinks. The last i checked they were the martiki and the Jimmy C Ku with handle.

Aloha kaua

At the Hyatt Huntington Beach Resort the Pete Mallory Surf City Sunset Grill sells a whole load of drinks in Tiki Farm mugs.
Shooters too. My brother Dave of Kahuna's Klassics did the interior design work of the restruant and connected with Preston and Holden of da Farm. There are 1st and 2nd series Shag mugs on display along with the usual cast of caractures for your viewing pleasure.
