The Hula Girls w/ The Tequila Worms @ Don the Beachcomber! 12/18 (UPDATED WITH VENDORS)

Pages: 1 2 56 replies

The Hula Girls are playing at Don the Beachcomber with The Tequila Worms! We're playing in the Hidden Village in order to accommodate the crowd. It was a little cramped in the Dagger Bar, the last time we played Don's. DJ Big Tiki Dude starts spinning records and vending starts at 6:00pm.

Jeff, please add anything that I might have left out....

Oh, by the way, Don's is providing $5 maitais, other $3 cocktails, and cheap PBR tall boys! Gonna be a hell of a night! Oh, and it's my birthday show too, so come and watch me pass out on stage.

I'm gonna be printing and selling these posters too!

Aloooha!

And then the Great Hula Girls and Tequila worms kick it up a few notches at 9pm.

We have about 12 Vendors for the tiki-x-mas shopping bazaar.

I know its the Sat. before the Holiday.
but I hope that those that can make it will be there.
and Dons will be having drink specials for the night.

Awesome event last night! Mahaloz to all involved! Cheers

H

Thanks to the BigTikiDude for a terrific tiki time ! The whole family came and had fun. Good music, good food, good drinks, good bands, great hula dancing...did I say that out loud ?

Great time last night! Hopefully we can start a concert series with vendors at Dons! The rain kinda limited attendance, but it was still packed! Way to put it all together, Jeff!
Pictures? There were a ton of cameras out last night!

Checking out the vendors and artwork at the beginning of the evening then having the bands later was a fun combination. Hope there are more shows like that.

And the giant $3 PBR's was a nice touch.

Thanks for putting together such a great event Jeff! Even though it would have been nice to have a few more customers in the vending area, ATP and I enjoyed hanging out and listening to your fabulous holiday mix. Both bands were awesome, and we especially appreciated the 3 encores from the Hula Girls - you guys rock! Thanks again to Jeff for inviting us to be vendors, and thanks to everyone who supported us.

Sorry I had to miss this. I started drinking earlier in the day, and by the time 1:00 in the afternoon rolled by, I realized I was too drunk...so of course I kept at it.

By 7:00 PM I am thinking about road blocks, rain and limited visibility....so I did not end up going. Instead, I kept on drinking.

But it was mostly the rain that kept me away. I love the Hula Girls!

Need to change your name to Lucas Lush,
Marty Lush's drunk cousin.

Jeff btd

Thanks for the compliments people.
I just like well rounded events, and that's
What I threw together.

Thanks to those who came out on a rainy night.
And thanks to the bands and vendors for
Agreeing to do it.

Jeff btd

RD

It definitely was a well-rounded event. I'm enjoying the Christmas CD I picked up from you at the event. There are some good tunes on it. I especially like "Santa Claus Go To The Ghetto". I had never heard that song before. I also laughed at the reference to Nixon & Agnew as being Santa's reindeers on the song Hang on Rudolf.

Any luck with the raffle tickets I gave you?

Great set!!! The Hula Girls are truly a fun band. Looking forward to seeing the band perform again in the near future. Dons is such a great location. A concert series would be great.

Good fun at Don's! Cheers to all that braved the rainy roads to make it a cozy gathering.

The Hula Girls and Tequila Worms were fantastic!!!

Thanks Jeff for putting this together.

And a big thanks to Dr Z for taking one for the team in the Dagger Bar after the show.
He kept the drunken MechaCougar barfly occupied for a while, so she wouldn't steal our men!
(She was rather fetching in her Sonny Bono vest and Ed Hardy "Bitch" skullcap)

Thanks again Dr. Z.!

DZ

Uhhh... you're welcome?

Y'know, calling that gal a 'cougar' is an insult to cougars around the world, both two- and four-legged! She's more like a sabre-toothed tiger that escaped extinction by hanging out down at the docks, teaching the sailors how to curse and picking up more DUI's than men.

I gave her Doug's number but told her it was mine - Merry Christmas, Doug!
