Hi all, I've been told the restore of our system is complete ... but some of our sites are clearly missing data. I'm trying to asertain whether or not Tiki Central has been successfully restored. My questions to the users are:
Specifically photos uploaded to tikicentral.com (older posts with photos from other sites do not count.) Please let me know if you're missing photos in your posts **and roughly when you uploaded them ( a month? last year?) **.
While it looks like we only lost a few days of posts, it's possible we're missing chunks from previous years(!!). Our totals look correct to me, but I'd feel better if we (collectively) could spot check TC and see if there's anything that looks odd. I've clicked through a lot of the pages in different forums, but nothing seems off, datewise (for example, a whole month without a post in the main forum, or something like that) If everyone could spend some time to check out their own post history and report back here, it would really help the site out. Hanford, It looks like all of the posts made two days before the crash are gone. The pictures posted up to 16 days before the crash are gone. I have reposted most of mine, the ones I did not repost are still gone. I spot checked my historical posts and did not see anything wrong. |

Yeah, I just wrote a little script to step through (logged) photos and it looks like photos between the dates of 1-07-11 and 12-22-10 (roughly 10 days) are missing. There could be more than that, though .... |

I haven't notice issues with pictures yet but, is it just my computer that is showing all the "Ads by Google" after I click on a thread? [ Edited by: Mr. NoNaMe 2011-01-16 19:28 ] |

the ads appear if you come to Tiki Central from a google search or external website*. if you visit Tiki Central by bookmarking it, or typing it in manually, you won't see them. This is designed so ads are shown to "fly bys" ... people who aren't regulars. People who come to the site from a google search, check the site our for whatever they were searching for, and leave. I designed it this way so that regulars aren't overwhelmed by ads, but could still generate some revenue from these one time visitors. To make the ads go away, quit your web browser, then restart it, and go to tikicentral.com/ directly. *Actually, the ads ONLY show up when google directs you to a POST. if google links you to main TC page, you also won't see the ads. This means people who search for "tiki central" and click on the link won't see the ad. |

Hi, I posted several pictures back on 12/27. They are still missing. I can very easily post them again as this is not an issue. I am only responding if this makes your situation easier for you. As an aside thanks for all you do by providing this forum for us. |

I don't know about missing posts or pix, but I have noticed that "Tiki Central Time" (as in the 'time stamp' when posts/Shout entries are made) is about 4 minutes fast... |
