As a cinematographer, I have always wondered when the digital camera revolution (small, affordable hi-rez cameras) will lead to a film genre of its own, so I applaud such efforts as this film. And I have no idea how the Tikis fit into the concept, but I am curious. :)

tripower, your movie looks pretty cool. congrats on making a movie, that's quite an accomplishment.

Based on that trailer, I'd pay to see that in the theater. The bob cut hottie in the skin tight cheongsam (in Japan ??) was the closer.

Plus there was a Tiki !! :D

Well it's good to hear that someone else has even heard of that 1975 neo-noir sleeper. It flys low and under the radar even for Film Noir geeks...

Hey Guys,

I thought I'd revive this old thread to let you know that my film, The Yakuza and the Mermaid will have a 2 week run at Cinema Village in NYC. It starts this Friday, Sept 28.

The soundtrack was done by the tiki band Fisherman, and is amazing!
