World Market 2011

I did a search and only found a few blurbs about this year's offering at World Market, so I decided that this would be a good time to pass along the info. I wanted to let everyone know that World Market stores are currently carrying tiki mugs and Trader Vic's Mai-Tai mix. This is particularly exciting for me because the only way for me to get Trader Vic's brand Mai-Tai mix is to order it from the the TV site itself. Finding good liquor out in W. TX is very difficult and something as exotic as the Trader Vic's brand is next to impossible.

The mugs they offer are knock-offs of the Orchids of Hawaii R-5 mug in green (and brown), and another mug that was available in brown (possibly green). The other mug I have never seen before in this size or color, but looks similar to the purple mug offered in the Accoutrements Tiki mug set (but larger). You can order a set of the R-5 mugs from World Market's website if you are interested in having extras for guests, to help a friend start a collection, or add to your own. The mugs cost $2.99 a piece in the stores and online for $11.99 (set of 4). You get the choice brown or green. Sadly, they don't offer the other design online and I've only seen it in the store. I have attached an image of that mug so you guys can see what it looks like (below the link to the mug page). I'm sure if they offer the R-5 in brown and green, then this one will probably be offered in two colors. My store only offered one color of each mug.

The price tag on the mugs read: BC# 24386623 & PO# 200397361
The imprinted text on the bottom of the mugs read:

"World Market
Made in China
Dishwasher Safe
Caution: Product may get hot in the microwave"

Happy Hunting!

World Market offers this pretty cool floor lamp. I've got mine behind a big chair so you can't tell that the base is (brown) metal. Mine was a craigslist find, but they sell them at World Market for $130. The shades are wood and paper.

The tiki mugs are back, at least at my local World Market. $3.99.

Cost Plus World Market just marked these tiki mugs down even further.

But they're so ugly.

Still, maybe it will get more people interested in tiki.
