I like this idea, but have one official event (like in the SF area), and then someone from other areas plan local events. Like one person from Boston, sets up a Boston area event, one from NYC sets up a NYC event , etc. The "local" events could be more casual.

So then, in order to take proper advantage of two different anniversary dates which can both be celebrated, they need to be properly distinguished. January 12, 2000 = Birthday of Tiki Central March 23, 2002 = To be determined. So... what should it be? Any ideas? I suppose it could be considered the Birthday of the New Improved Tiki Central. Or maybe Tiki Central Independence Day? I dunno... Oh, and just for the record, March 23rd also happens to be National Chip and Dip Day as well as Near Miss Day.

I just never knew Hanford acknowledged that date as the beginning. This website is really that started it all for me. Oh well, whatever happens , happens.
