I know there is some minor debate about whether surf is tiki or not (although I know your comment was a joke, Jeff). However, driving into work today I was thinking it'd be cool to do a comp that contains equal parts surf and exotica. I think with the right songs it'd be very cool. I'm way over my head still dealing with the Brave New Surf CD release, but maybe I'll give this some more serious thought in 2012. At some point I really would like to have a CD out with a tiki (or tikis) on the cover.

I believe that surf is tiki and has a place on this forum and at tiki events.

If you put that compilation together, I'd be glad to have a track on there.

Sean,

I would be stoked if you put out a cd that was a mix of mellow surf, and good modern tiki music on it.

I think it would work, and there are enough open minded tiki people, that is would probably sell pretty well.
Maybe you could do a joint release with Lee from Dionysus.
