'Alfred Hitchcock Presents' tiki episode,... sort of

I was watching episodes of the old Alfred Hitchcock Presents series, the other night. I saw a story that includes the fantasy of the beautiful island girl and escape to the South Seas. It is titled, "The Three Dreams of Mr. Findlater", and originally aired in 1957. It's up on YouTube in two 12-minute parts:

The Three Dreams of Mr. Findlater, Part 1
The Three Dreams of Mr. Findlater, Part 2

That's awesome!

But I must point out that since she has no tatts, and there is no surf rock playing in the background....this must be "Hawaiiana" and not "tiki"!

Great find! The beginning, when he comes into his room: That's us in a nutshell! :)

Regarding the style genre, I would call this Pre-Tiki, which is similar to Hawaiiana, (though Hawaiiana means of purely Hawaiian origin)
Though 1957 is already in the Tiki period, the older married couple portrayed here (and the whole style of the Alfred Hitchcock TV series) clearly belongs to the Pre-Tiki generation. Not until 1959 did Tiki enter the world of TV, with Hawaiian Eye.
