Description:
I got this really great little table top folding Tiki drink menu from the Captain Cook Room bar at the Surf Rider Hotel on the beach in Waikiki so I decided to start a thread for the Surf Rider.

I have a brochure with a photo of the room, rather sparse but some Tiki art.

There was a tiki in the cool lobby (on the left).

And a Tiki on the brochure

I have always loved the Surf Rider logos.

And the primo hotel location on Waikiki beach.

I see two DC... One near the window on the right. Good stuff!

I see a dodgy looking dude leering uncomfortably with next to no shorts on!! :D

Phillip,

Right you are, two Tikis!

Harro,

Now that's funny! Those aren't shorts, they're "Cabana Mates"!

Reminds me of the NBA in the early 1980's.

Here is a little info and a nice napkin from Arkiva Tropika:

The Surf Rider Hotel was built by Matson Lines in 1952, next to
the Moana Hotel in Waikiki. It later became a wing of the Moana Hotel, after being sold to the Sheraton in 1959.

The Surf Rider used that cool logo on ashtrays

and coasters

Here is a close up of the drink menu

Love the Mai Tai with an oversized glass filled with "mostly dark, rich rum"!

Found this news clip showing the Surf Rider Tiki being finished in 1952.
