Murder by Maoi

Definitely NOT tiki:

A pensioner has admitted beating his wife to death with a statue.

Fred Gilliard, 75, was suffering a “depressive episode” in February when he attacked June, also 75, at their £150,000 seaside retirement home.

He repeatedly stabbed her as well as hitting her with the replica of an Easter Island statue.

Gilliard admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility after his not-guilty plea to murder was accepted at Preston crown court.

Stuart Denney QC, prosecuting, said: “He was suffering a major depressive episode which caused a loss of control.”

Gilliard, of Blackpool, will be sentenced next month and judge Anthony Russell QC told him: “You will be detained for some time but it is appropriate to consider if that should be in hospital or prison.”

Certainly Bilge worthy. Good to know that in an emergency (like an evil intruder) a Moai statue can be used in combination with a sharp object to inflict lethal wounds on the victim.

(edit...can't spell)

"Oh waiter, another cocktail please!!!"
