On Thursday, Sept. 27, from 7 to 9 p.m., guests at the legendary Polynesian restaurant’s Molokai lounge will have the opportunity to taste Fortuna 8 from Nicaragua, and Dos Maderas PX from Barbados and Guyana. Presented by Robert A. Burr, organizer of the annual Miami Rum Renaissance Festival, this exclusive opportunity is limited to the first 40 guests. The cost is $20 per person in advance and $25 at the door. The price includes four drinks: One cocktail and one neat featuring each of the two rums. Here are a few photos from the event. Nice turnout, and the rums were excellent, especially the Dos Maderas PX (5+5), a great sipping rum. Special guest mixologist Freddy Diaz of AlambiQ Mixology was on hand to make Mai Tais with Dos Maderas. And The Mai-Kai whipped up some special Hidden Pearls with Fortuna 8. |
